ඇකඩමි ඔෆ් ඩිජිටල් ෆොටෝග‍්‍රැෆි (AODP) යනු ඡායාරූප ශිල්ප අධ්‍යාපනය ලබාදීම තම මූලික අභිප‍්‍රාය කරගත් ආයතනයකි. එහි නිර්මාතෘ වන ප‍්‍රවීණ ඡායාරූප ශිල්පී ශාන්ත ගුණරත්න (BA, ANPAS, FNPAS, Hon. FNPAS, AFIAP) ඡායාරූප ශිල්පයට අත්පොත් තැබුවේ 1985 වසරේ දී, කොළඹ රාජකීය විදුහලේ ශිෂ්‍යයකුව සිටි අවධියේ දීය.
එමෙන් ම ශ්රී ලංකා ජාතික ඡායාරූප කලා සංගමයේ තුන් අවුරුදු ඡායාරූප ශිල්ප ඩිප්ලෝමාව විශිෂ්ඨ සාමාර්ථ සමගින් අවසන් කළ ඔහු එම සංගමයේ ඇසුරු සාමාජිකත්‍වය (ANPAS), සභාගී සාමාජිකත්‍වය (FNPAS) හා ගෞරව සභාගී සාමාජිකත්‍වය (Hon. FNPAS) ද දිනාගෙන ඇති අතර, කැලණිය විශ්ව විද්‍යාලයෙන් බී. ඒ. (ගෞරව) උපාධිය ද ලබාගෙන ඇත.
ජාත්‍යන්තර හා දේශීය ඡායාරූප තරග රැසකින් ඡායාරූප ශිල්ප ජයග්‍රහණ ලබා ඇති ඔහු සියයකට අධික ප්රමාණයක් පදක්කම්, කුසලාන සහ කුසළතා සහතික දිනාගෙන ඇති අතර, ජාත්‍යන්තර ඡායාරූප කලා සම්මේලනය මගින් පිරිනමන ඡායාරූප කලාවේදී සම්මානය (Artist FIAP / AFIAP) ද දිනාගෙන ඇත.
AODP හි සම්බන්ධීකාරක හා ඡායාරූප ශිල්ප උපදේශකවරයෙකු ලෙස 2006 වසරේ සිට වැඩමුළු, සම්මන්ත‍්‍රණ සහ දේශන විශාල ප්රමාණයක් මෙහෙයවා ඇති ඔහු මෑත කාලීනව ඩිජිටල් ඡායාරූපකරණය අළලා තම දේශන වැඩි වශයෙන් මෙහෙයවයි. ශ්රී ලංකා ජාතික ඡායාරූප කලා සංගමයේ ඡායාරූප ශිල්ප උපදේශකවරයකු වශයෙන් 2003 වසරේ සිට මේ දක්වා කටයුතු කරන අතර එම සංගමයේ විධායක අධ්‍යක්‍ෂ ධූරය ඇතුළු අධ්‍යක්‍ෂ ධූර කිහිපයක් හොබවා ඇත. ශ්රී ලංකා කලා මණ්ඩලය යටතේ ඇති ඡායාරූප අනුමණ්ඩල සාමාජිකයෙකු ලෙස 2013 සිට 2016 දක්වා කටයුතු කර ඇති ඔහු ශ්රී ලංකා ඡායාරූප සංගම් සම්මේලනයේ ආරම්භක ලේකම්වරයා ලෙස 2011/2012 වසරවල කටයුතු කර ඇත. ඔහු සංස්කෘතික කටයුතු දෙපාර්තමේන්තුව යටතේ ජාතික කලාකරුවෙකු ලෙස ලියාපදිංචි ඡායාරූප ශිල්පියෙකු ද වේ.
කැලණිය විශ්ව විද්‍යාලයේ ප‍්‍රතිබිම්බ කලා අධ්‍යයන ඒකකය මගින් මෙහෙයවන එක් අවුරුදු ඡායාරූප ශිල්ප ඩිප්ලෝමා පාඨමාලාවේ බාහිර උපදේශකවරයකු වශයෙන් ද 2007 වසරේ සිට 2013 වසර දක්වා ක්‍රියාකර ඇත. වර්තමානයේ ශ්රී ලංකා පදනම් ආයතනය මෙහෙයවන එක් අවුරුදු ඩිජිටල් ඡායාරූපකරණ ජාතික ඩිප්ලෝමා පාඨමාලාවේ සම්බන්ධීකාරක වශයෙන් කටයුතු කරන අතර, නිපුණතා සංවර්ධන හා වෘත්තීය පුහුණු අමාත්‍යංශය යටතේ ඡායාරූප ශිල්ප නිපුණතා පාදක ඇගයීම්කරුවෙකු (NVQ Assessor for Photographer) ලෙස 2011 වසරේ සිට ක්‍රියාකරනු ලබයි.
‘කලු සුදු ඡායාරූපකරණය’ නමින් තම කුළුඳුල් ග්‍රන්ථය පළ කළ ඔහු ‘අංකිත ඡායාරූප ශිල්පය’ නමින් ඡායාරූප ශිල්ප සඟරාවක් ප්‍රකාශයට පත් කරයි. එමෙන් ම ඡායාරූප ශිල්ප ලේඛකයකු ලෙස ලිපි විශාල සංඛ්‍යාවක් ලියා ඇති ඔහු විශේෂයෙන් කලු සුදු ඡායාරූපකරණය සහ ඩිජිටල් ඡායාරූපකරණය පිළිබඳ වැඩි වශයෙන් ලිපි සම්පාදනය කරනු ලබයි. තව ද සිංහලෙන් පළවන පැරණිතම ලාංකීය ඡායාරූප ශිල්ප සඟරාව වන ‘ලංකා කැමරා’ සඟරාවට ලිපි සම්පාදනය කරන ඔහු එහි සංස්කරණ සම්බන්ධීකාරක ලෙස ද 2007 වසරේ සිට කටයුතු කර ඇත.
ඒ අනුව මෙම වෙබ් අඩවිය හරහා ඡායාරූප ශිල්ප දැනුම සිංහල භාෂාවෙන් ලබා දීම සඳහා ඉදිරියේ දී අඛණ්ඩව ලිපි මාලාවක් ඉදිරිපත් කිරීමට බලාපොරොත්තු වේ.
AODP – Academy Of Digital Photography is an Institution mainly focused on Photography Education. It’s founder Shantha Gunaratne (BA, ANPAS, FNPAS, Hon. FNPAS, AFIAP) has been involved in photography since 1985 as a member of the Photographic Society of Royal College Colombo – 07.
He completed Three Year Diploma in Photography at the National Photographic Art Society of Sri Lanka (NPAS) and he has been awarded Associate Membership (ANPAS), Fellowship (FNPAS) and Honorary Fellowship (Hon. FNPAS) too. He has obtained B.A. (Honors) Degree at the University of Kelaniya.
He has won more than hundred numbers of Medals, Awards and Merit Certificates from International & Local Competitions and awarded Artist FIAP / AFIAP by The International Federation of Photographic Art.
Shantha Gunaratne as the Coordinator and Instructor of AODP has been conducting Photography Courses, Seminars, Workshops and Practical Sessions since 2006 and he is conducting lectures mainly on Digital Photography at present. He has already conducted number of Digital Photography Courses, Seminars and Workshops in several areas in the country.
He has been conducting Photography Lectures at the National Photographic Art Society of Sri Lanka since 2003 and held several Director posts including Director Executive post. He had been served as a Member of the State Panel of Photographic Art under the Arts Council of Sri Lanka from 2013 to 2016 and the founder Secretary of the Photographic Federation of Sri Lanka 2011/2012. He is a National Artiste (Photographer) registered under the Department of Cultural Affairs.
He was a visiting instructor of the one-year Diploma Course in Photography at the University of Kelaniya from 2007 to 2013. He is the Coordinator of the One-year National Diploma in Digital Photography conducted by Sri Lanka Foundation and he has been serving as an NVQ Assessor for Photographer from the year 2011 under the Ministry of Skills Development and Vocational Training.
Shantha has published his first book ‘Black & White Photography’ recently and publishing ‘Digital Photography’ Magazine. As a writer he has written many articles in various topics of photography, mainly Black & White photography and Digital Photography. He was the Editorial coordinator of the ‘Lanka Camera’ magazine from the year 2007.
In the future we hope to publish Photography Related Articles continuously in Sinhalese Medium to fulfill the requirement in this field.
